Film Story

As youthful Merle discovers that she has her own opinions, she must face the challenge of standing up for what she believes in. In an elaborate interplay of camera movement, cut and sound levels, the film convinces with forceful color dramaturgy and consistent rhythm. “Merle” gets its charm and life through the natural poise of the main actress whose thoughts are resourcefully reflected in images. The intentional abstract exaggeration of the story challenges the audience to fill the story’s gaps on their own and develop their own interpretation. In this respect, „Merle“ is a low-key, but amusing plea for individuality.
